The Race......
Teams of 2 or 3 will travel together for 50 - 100 miles, depending on the 12 or 24 hour race option, through two states, forest preserves, fish and wildlife areas, state parks, historic sites, state and federal recreation areas, previously inaccessible private property and rural county roads.
This is not an urban adventure race! Western Rock Island County is one of the least populated, most historic, and undeveloped areas in the State of Illinois!
The 6th Annual "Thunder Rolls" adventure race, will follow the trails, waterways and migration routes of Chief Black Hawk and the Sauk and Fox Indians of the 1800's through Rock Island county in western Illinois. The expedition style, unsupported race will include canoeing, trail running/trekking, mountain biking, orienteering/navigation, coasteering, pack rafting and ropes. |
