The Quad Cities Women’s Outdoor Club (QCWOC) was created by women, for women—built on a simple but powerful idea: life is better when we explore it together.
What began in 2006 as a conversation among a small group of outdoor-minded women quickly grew into something much bigger. With support from the local outdoor community, QCWOC officially launched in 2007, bringing women together for their very first hike just days after incorporating. From that moment on, the spirit of adventure—and sisterhood—took hold.
After a brief pause in 2008, the club relaunched in 2009 with renewed energy and a clear mission: to create a welcoming space where women of all ages and experience levels can get outside, try new things, and build lasting friendships.
Today, QCWOC is a thriving community of over 400 women, ages 18 to 70+, united by a shared love of the outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, biking, paddling, camping, or simply gathering around a campfire, there’s a place for everyone here—no experience required.
Our annual membership is just $25 + processing fees. We host a wide variety of activities, every month we have a minimum of 8 events with 4 of those being free. We also have four signature gatherings every year :
-
Winter Social: A time to connect, celebrate, and welcome new leadership
-
Summer Social: A laid-back outdoor gathering filled with fun, laughter, and community
-
Big Trip: A trip that is sure to WOW, provide new experiences and more fun and laughter than you can imagine.
-
Little Trip: Like the big trip but fewer days.
QCWOC is more than a club—it’s a community, a support system, and a source of inspiration.
Life's out there. Live it. Your next adventure—and your next group of friends—is waiting.
