How do I join QCWOC?
How much is it to join QCWOC? An annual membership is $25.00.
How much are events? A minimum of four events a month are FREE and some events may require additional fees for equipment rental, lodging, guides, instruction etc. The event description will specify if there is an additional event cost.
How do I sign up for events? If you are a member, you may visit our calendar and sign up for events there.
What is a event WAITLIST and how is it managed? A waitlist may or may not be used for an event. If an event has a waitlist, and the only option that remains is to join the waitlist, click the waitlist and sign up for the event. A waitlist is used to find substitutes for participants who cancel their sign up for a specific event. The Event Coordinator Contact manages the waitlist which lists members in the order they signed up. Waitlists are managed by first-come-first-serve basis. A member might be contacted by the Event Coordinator Contact just days before the event or the day of the event. A waitlist member who is contacted by the Event Coordinator Contact can decide, when contacted, if they would still like to participate in the event. If a member declines, the Event Coordinator Contact continues to work the waitlist. If the waitlist member accepts the waitlist spot for a paid event, the waitlist member pays the member whose spot they filled.
If I need to cancel my participation in a paid event, how do I get my money back? QCWOC events are non-refundable. However, if a paid event has a waitlist, it is possible to get your money back from another member who takes your spot. Contact the Event Coordinator Contact timely so she may be able to work the waitlist for a possible substitute. It is possible the waitlist will yield no substitute. A member who takes the place in a paid event for another member is responsible to pay the member whose place they are taking. If an event is FREE, the waitlist process is the same except reimbursement is not a part of the process.
How do I cancel my participation for a FREE event? Contact the Event Coordinator Contact. She will work the event waitlist if one exists.
What if I'm arriving late for an event? Contact the Event Coordinator Contact. The Event Coordinator Contact will decide how a late arrival will impact the start of the event and respond accordingly. The decision on how long to wait for late participants is event specific. Please consider valuable time of all participants and plan for timely arrival at all events.
How do I send a question or inquire regarding a specific event? Each event has a Event Coordinator Contact. Call or text or email the Event Coordinator Contact.
Do I need specific equipment or experience to join QCWOC and participate in an event? Neither equipment or experience is needed. As a member, recommend reading the event you are interested in and contacting the Event Coordinator Contact with questions.
Does QCWOC have a FACEBOOK page? Yes, QCWOC Members Only page. This page is available to past and current members and includes event announcements, event posts and pictures, merchandise purchases, and member posts who just want to get together outside of a planned QCWOC event. FACEBOOK posts are managed by QCWOC administrators who manage and approval posts prior to posting.
How do I purchase QCWOC merchandise? QCWOC merchandise is offered several times a year. Watch for merchandise purchase options on events through out the year or on QCWOC Members Only FACEBOOK page.
